Val was one of the first Los Al friends to reach out to me when I returned from a deployment ten years ago. He showed up at my BBQ and that was probably the first time I saw him since High School. When I moved back to the area about 8 years ago we started hanging out again almost monthly trying new chicken wing or tomahawk steak spots or playing tennis or cruising on E-bikes. I got reintroduced to the College Park East crew and Val was a regular at every military ceremony and hanging out with family and friends ever since. The dude was solid, this is a devastating loss , and he is and will always be missed.
