Val was one of the first Los Al friends to reach out to me when I returned from a deployment ten years ago. He showed up at my BBQ and that was probably the first time I saw him since High School. When I moved back to t…

The world lost a great guy far too soon.

I wasn't really close to you, Val. We only knew each other from the pickleball courts. Everyone always told me what a kind person you were and that you always had a smile on your face. That's what I'll remember most about you—you always had a smile. I'm so sorry about your dad as well. I know you're together in heaven now. Rest in peace. ❤️

A beautiful day it was

I met Val through an ONYX group online. One day I saw that he was going on a group ride and that he lived near by, so I asked him if he’d be willing to pick me up & just like that he was picking me the next day. It didn…

Professional rescue hero, and rollerskater

In 3rd grade we were the class clowns. He drew a beard on his copy of our class photo. We never could figure out why because we had no beef. He was a friend to everyone, a brilliant sense of humor, and s sharp wi…

Ball Games! ⚾️

Throughout the years we went to many games together. Val is the only one who ever almost got me kicked out of diamond club. He had to pose on top of the dugout seats, which we knew wasn’t allowed, but went for it anyway…

To our dearest Val

It’s hard to find the right words when someone you love is gone. I think we’re all still trying to process it. But one thing I do know is that Val made each of our lives better in his own way. He made us laugh, showed u…

Big Red Bus - 2013

This was from our Big Red Bus era in 2013. I had invited some friends from LA to join the shenanigans and they instantly fell in love with Val. I’m so glad they got to experience a few hours of his warm, crazy spirit!

Val always brought so much positive energy, laughter, and life to every room he walked into. Every gathering was better because he was there. I love you, brother—and I’m grateful to have known you. Thank you for the memories, the laughs, and the friendship. Until we meet again, my brother from another mother. Rest easy.

Val is such a nice guy. He gave one of his CRBN paddle to one of my coworkers. It was such a nice gesture from him because it made my coworker so happy. He has a nice personality and also has some skills on the court! We will miss him terribly. Play on in the heavens. We are here rooting for you down here on earth.

One of a Kind

Val was a gentleman full of kindness and wit. He and I attended high school together and I have great memories of playing on the Los Al tennis team with him. We were Team Swolllen, which was the brand of uniform of if I remember correctly, and we would not have been that great bunch of guys without Val’s humor and influence. There is a hilarious photograph of us showing our Team Swell that is out there. I don’t have a memory of Val without a smile and laughter. Sending …
